Unfortunately I'm dealing with someone who lies more than a politician so this device is most useful. The maps is powered by Google and you get to choose which map setting works for you. The accuracy is almost perfect - it's not an exact location but if you zoom in and pay attention to the landmarks you will find what you are looking for. You can also see movement on the map. Another thing I thought was helpful is the tutorials on the company website. They help a lot with understanding how to use the device and with setting up your settings. So far it been worth the money. The monthly subscription is a little pricey. I can track in real-time the location of the vehicle, as well as the average speed, distance traveled, time travelled, time the vehicle is parked on location, etc. You can see it in Google Maps, or a few other map options. It also shows history, you can go back and check previous days and it also shows activity reports. Very complete app. I use it mostly on my phone app, but I've also checked it from a desktop with a lot more details to choose from. With regards to placement, they recommend putting it on the edges of the vehicle under the car for maximal exposure, in every instance except once, it has picked up the signal and sent messages back. The one time that it didn’t pick up the signal was probably because the tracking device was still "adjusting" to the environment, for maximal signal transmission. I’ve had no issues since that one time. Very user friendly, easy to install, no need to contact customer service at all for any issues. Excellent product! I would buy it again and I've already recommended it to a person that's seriously considering it...There are alternatives out there that do not require a GPS device, such as online apps that require having GPS on the phone to be "on" (with a lot of battery drainage) and it has to have the user's "consent" to be allowed to be tracked... First the instructions tell you to charge it for 5 hrs, which as I understand it will have to be done every 5 to 7 days. Second, they tell you to sign up for GPS tracking in which they will bill you $215.88 per year for a one minute refresh and more for real-time. Plus they will promise a free month and won’t deliver on that promise. Third, they tell you to take the car for a 20 to 30 min drive with the devise on the top of the dash to acquaint it with your car. Fourth, they tell you where to place it under the car. In my experience I could never drive around with it under the car. It worked ok when it was in the interior space, not hidden. But if you want a devise you can hide and expect it to perform, then this devise is not for you. I returned it to Amazon after 4 days of non-proformance. But of course when I called to cancel my GPS service which they had already billed to my card, they hung up on me. I had to contact my bank to get them to open a dispute. I’m still waiting on a refund of my money. We pretty much stick to our same places of buying food, eating out etc. The battery life is great! After a week, the battery life is at 85%! For me after 2 weeks I recharge the devices. This helps to never miss any monitoring time.) The monitoring platform is easy to use. I use it on my laptop. The tutorial videos are quite helpful to navigate this site.
