I am about to lose my mind from trying to troubleshoot this.Back in 2020 I was wired for most of the time in an apartment but ever since I moved into a house, I did not have access to any kind of jack. So, I decided to just let it go and live with Wi-Fi, 2 years later, the lag in the games I play got really damn annoying, so I wanted to get ethernet again, so I routed a damn cable through my window to the first floor to get wired, and after thinking I was done, I plugged it in, and nothing worked. Somehow in a 2-year span, the ethernet just stopped working, whether that was due to windows or the hardware itself, I had no damn clue. After trying for an entire day to fix it, with nothing working, I went ahead and just thought the motherboard was to blame for it and maybe the actual port was broken.Fast forward about 4 or 5 months, I had a little money left over and bought this 18-dollar Ugreen PCIe ethernet card from amazon, it just came in today and after installing it, it happened again. The fucking thing keeps saying my Internet is unidentifiable again, but now it sometimes shows that I am connected but then says that there is no connection or access to the internet. So, what the hell is this happening? I can't see one thing, the drivers all seem to be working just fine, the actual card looks like it works, the cable works since I am able to connect it to my Series X which also means the router works, is it just windows? I plan on building a new pc in about 4 or 5 months and get everything new, so I don't care that much but I just don't see why? Why does it keep doing this for no clear reason? I don't even know what flair to give this since I do not know if this really is software, hardware, networking or even windows, I don't know.I have tried everything I know about computers; I tried what little I could find on the internet on how to fix this, and now I am completely lost.Could anyone help?Thank you.
