I’ve just sent off an EoI to a pretty highly regarded law firm that had a vacancy in their litigation team for a clerk. I was referred by a girl I met through uni who already works there, who gave me a direct email and not a general HR contact. This girl doesn’t know my GPA, but is aware I don’t have much experience in private firms. I do currently work in the criminal law sector, but not as a clerk. I’m in my last year of my degree, and desperate for a graduate position (which this girl says it could turn into)I’ve tried to keep my hopes low, but if I’m lucky enough to get an interview, how do I prove I’m up to the job when my GPA doesn’t actually meet their requirements, and I have very little relevant experience? The only thing I have going for me is this referral, which everyone says networking sometimes is more important than grades. Thanks in advance
