Astrophotography Build (PixInsight)

full image - Repost: Astrophotography Build (PixInsight) (from Reddit.com, Astrophotography Build (PixInsight))
Hello there,I'm relatively tech savy, but I've never built a PC before. I could probably cobble together some parts from microcenter but I want someone with knowledge to put together something that will make way more sense and function better than I could build. Thanks! What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using. This would be primarily used for astrophotography editing, using PixInsight, and photo editing, using Lightroom Classic. If I also end up getting to play some VR games (Star Wars: Squadrons), that would be dope, but it is not the primary need of this system.PixInsight is a beast. Please take a look at the full system requirements (https://ift.tt/oIhN9dS) but here are the highlights:Recommended processors: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X/3970X/3990X, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X/5950X. By default, the PixInsight platform will use all processors and processor cores available on your machine.Minimum recommended amount of RAM: From 64 GiB to 1 TiB, depending on the sizes and number of images to process, on a 64-bit machine and operating system. The recommended practical minimum for production work is 64 GiB of RAM. PixInsight demands fast hard disks. We recommend working exclusively with solid-state disks (SSD) on all platforms, and preferably with high-performance NVMe drives. Also, take a look at this link, these are the best performing builds on this program: https://ift.tt/dZG0xAs. It looks like the top builds use the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and the Asus Rog Strix X670E-F. I don't need to be the best, but I want to be towards the upper end. What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?$1200-$2500. It's a stupid range, I know, but I'm trying to figure out how much this will cost me. I want the performance, but I don't want to spend money on things I don't need. If I can keep the cost down, great! If not, then I'm willing to go higher. If a huge price jump gets minimal performance increase, then I'd rather save money. When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.Let's call it a week. If this ends up being towards the higher end of the budget we might take longer. What, exactly, do you need to be included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)Tower, OS.Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?Springfield, VA, USA, area with access to a MicrocenterIf reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated. We will be using our Samsung ViewFinity monitor (LS27A800UJNXGO), and logitech keyboard and mouse. Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?I'm down to overclock. Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)It looks like the top builds for PixInsight use the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and the Asus Rog Strix X670E-F. I don't need to be the best, but I would like it to be towards the upper end of performance (https://ift.tt/dZG0xAs ).SSDs 2TB would be good, NVMe.64GB of RAMI'm down for water cooling. What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.WiFi, please.Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components? No particular desire here, just something that will fit everything and allow me to upgrade in the future. I would think this is an area we could same some cost.Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?Windows 11
