Hey guys! To avoid googling what every USPS status means for a Shopify order, I made a list of all statuses I came across while developing a tracking notification shopify app.I realize some of these are no-brainers, but I’m including them for completeness. There’s a continually updated list on the app site, but I won’t link to it unless someone wants me to in order to avoid self promotion.Available for Pickup StatusesAvailable For Redelivery Or PickupThe item couldn't be delivered and is now held at the post office. It can either be picked up by the recipient or scheduled for redelivery.Held At Delivery Depot/Delivery OfficeThe package is at the local delivery depot or post office and is waiting for pickup by the recipient.Held At Post OfficeThe item is being held at the post office and is ready for pickup by the recipient.Available For PickupThe package is at the post office, available for the recipient to come and pick it up.Collect For Pick UpThe recipient must collect the package from the post office or designated pickup location.Reminder To Pick Up Your Item BeforeA reminder to the recipient to pick up their held package before it gets returned to the sender.Attempted Delivery – Item Being HeldUSPS tried to deliver the item, but it is now being held at the post office for the recipient to pick up.Overweight, Pick UpThe package is too heavy for standard delivery and must be picked up by the recipient at the post office.Oversize, Pick UpThe package is too large for standard delivery and must be picked up by the recipient at the post office.Failed Delivery Attempt StatusesUndeliverableThe package could not be delivered, and the reason for this is usually specified in the tracking information. This is usually from an incomplete or incorrect address, damage to the package, or the customer refusing the shipment.Delivery AttemptedUSPS tried to deliver the item, but was unsuccessful. They'll either attempt delivery again or the customer needs to pick up the package at the post office.Notice LeftA notice was left for the recipient because USPS couldn't deliver the package. The notice provides instructions on how to proceed, usually scheduling for a redelivery or pickup. No Access To Delivery LocationThe delivery location was inaccessible, and USPS will usually attempt delivery again. Otherwise, it’s a pickup. Will Attempt Delivery On Next (Business Day/Day)USPS will try to deliver the package on the next business day or specified day.
