Im not sure I have a case here but wanted to gauge the internet for thoughts.Myself and another were recently laid off based on "budgets" however the following morning the CEO (who did the letting go) announced to the company it was because of "culture" (basically his fragile ego being hurt because we questioned his decisions). We have been promised two weeks severance however we must sign SA by Monday EOD, and send back company machines by that same time. This is a two business day turnaround and doesnt give us much time to review it properly with a lawyer. We attempted to negotiate - four weeks severance and to keep our machines. His response was demanding we sign by EOD Monday and got the company attorney involved. We're getting an attorney involved.Additional info and my thoughts: they're in the midst of a delicate fund raise and need to keep us quiet. We both have solid professional networks stretching the globe, and direct connections to their investors and customers and our situation and insider information could really hurt this funding round and future investment potential. He's being a HUGE dick about it and has been creating a toxic work culture the last six months, literally telling the Product team "I trust you, but I dont trust you" and more.I dont need the money, but I do feel the need to stand up and say something. What does the internet think?
