I see a lot of youtube videos now a days where content creators are giving it back to the scammer calls centers (mostly in India). Here is one.He explains how these call centers use VOIP providers for eg. Tollfreeforwading, etc to get hold of inbound numbers , call center software called vicidial and using SIP providers like velia.net .As someone from the network background, I can see that if I can somehow block all velia.net source IP's ( by playing with BGP, etc) , ISP's do have the ability to block any source traffic from these providers.Offcourse, ISP's are not supposed to block anything but for eg. if a country like USA is losing millions of dollars every year ( gullible people mostly) , isnt there a law or something that the enforcement agencies can use to block this traffic?I could never get an answer to this.Someone here working on anything related to this?Edit: It does even have to be an ISP. If I am the VOIP/PSTN provider for the customers /victims, I can block it in my own network while the calls are inbound. It will be a hassle to keep up with the bad source IP's , bad tollfree numbers, etc.Another thing could be holding toll free number providers accountable or liable in someway if their number is being used for scam operations.
