I hoping to find some resources to help me bridge from programming to understanding modern development. I know it's a big ask.The issue I face is that all resources I can find are targeted to newcomers. It's tedious and slowing me down. Also these YouTube videos are terrible to weed through. I would like some no nonsense channels to follow.I'll try and keep it brief and not annoy anyone. I'm comfortable with math and I know the low level concepts of programming and I know hardware.I've written lots of code in C, VB, various microcontrollers and of course Structured Text.My focus has always been the math or the overall manipulation algorithm, if that makes sense?I'm not a pro at C. I write simplified statements of how I need to manipulate the data then I spent a week or brute forcing through the code lol. 20 years later I've gotten pretty comfortable.No it's not secure code but my stuff runs isolated in a machine. Never networked.I'm comfortable enough with low level hardware to have written my own DNC program to transfer G Code (just a text file) to a undocumented microcontroller. It runs on a custom DOS implementation from a company long dead. This took months...Due to the industry I'm in, that is all I've been exposed to.Trouble is that I can't figure out how to make python work.The vscode terminal is just a poweshell?? I installed so many things and so confused on how to get how to get my local cloned github to complie.I've got few repost to work. One of which was privateGPT! Very cool very interesting.But this was an old version from year and now the latest update is way different. I'm stumped and a little frustrated.Anyways I'm just hoping there's some resources to help me setup the environment and show me how these things talk to each other.I'm used to just a few files and either compiling to an executable or running in a terminal.
