So a few things that make me a little bit suspicious:When they launched the Watcher channel it had several shows with seasons, like on a TV network… or a streaming platform. They kept saying and also added in their description that they want to make TV quality content. Was probably to be expected that this wouldn’t happen on Youtube the way they envisioned it, because the Youtube algorithm doesn’t like channels with lots of subs, but those subs only engaging with some, but not all of their content. They know better than this, so why would they decide to do it this way instead of having separate channels? They are saying that money is tight and they‘re struggling, but keep hiring employees only to end up posting once a week still. Where are these resources going? Someone said they make like 28k a month off Patreon. That’s 336k per year, if that’s true. Someone else said apparently Ghost Files costs like 150k to produce per season. That would mean it’s entirely covered by Patreon and would still leave lots of room to improve production quality or produce more, like they said.Creating a streaming platform doesn’t happen over night. I’m assuming they want to have a finished service + app with some exclusive content on there ready when it’s launched in like a month. That would mean they‘ve been working on this for quite a while now. If they actually make that happen and it’s a working platform with content… wouldn’t this kind of mean that the people on Patreon supported something that they won’t even get to see, if they don’t pay again? So the resources they paid to support went into a project they weren’t made aware of and didn’t agree with? Because there’s no way the crew didn’t know this for a while now and withheld some resources for the channel while directing them where they actually wanted to go. Yes, this sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory and I‘m sure I‘m missing something… but if that’s somewhat correct, that would be a little fucked up, no? If they have content up and ready on a working platform, they would have had to work months on that while neglecting the Youtube channel on purpose at best, or already paying for twice the resources for the new content. What do you think? Should I delete this, is this crazy lol
