Hey Everybody,I am in a somewhat pecuiliar and confusing sitaution. For background information, I currently have my A+ and will be taking Network+ next month. I am also 23 Single No kids, college graduate, located in Los Angeles.I am essentially wondering if I should take a risk and leave my current job?I am currently a FTE helpdesk at a company with a great environment that I've been at for almost a year now (making $24/hour and working fully on-site) and have gotten the itch to go into Networking as my next step in my career. I have been eyeing entry level Networking Technician roles for a couple months and just today got an email from an outside recruiter working for Kaiser Permanante. This position is about 15 minutes closer to me. It's a contract position though which kind of is the major downside to me and also it being in healthcare field.Below I'll list the description of the position:Title: Network TechnicianClient: Kaiser PermanenteLocation: Fully on-siteDuration: 6-12 month contract to hireCompensation: $30 an hourRole:-Respond to tickets over the phone or on-site to assist Kaiser employee end-users-Provide Level 1 support and ensure day-to-day operation, reliability and integrity of the voice communications network including installing and maintaining phones, routers, LAN switches and servers and WAN networks-Coordinate Moves, Adds and Changes on networking equiptmentAll this stuff sounds like a dream since I have been very interested in networking and even have my own Cisco lab , but I'm not sure if this is the right move especially with all the horror stories I have heard about Healthcare IT and the possibility of not being permanent.So Temporary Networking or Permanent Helpdesk to Permanent Networking and keep looking?Any advice is appreciated my technical friends. Thank you.
