Well, I'm 30 now.For my career, I’ve done the following: I completed an interior design apprenticeship, worked random retail jobs, and for the past 10 years, I’ve been doing alright with a YouTube channel. On average, I made a bit more than I would’ve in a regular 9-to-5, but I absolutely hate it by now, and it’s no longer enough to support myself. My motivation to keep doing it as a full-time career is gone. If I were to calculate the amount of hours I put in over the years compared to the money I made, I was probably working for less than minimum wage.While I was doing YouTube, I knew it wouldn’t last forever, so I decided to go to university and get a bachelor’s degree. I had no clear direction, so I chose something relatively easy that would allow me to keep working—ended up finishing a degree in Media & Communication Science.Now, my situation feels kinda bleak. It seems like, for my degree to be worth anything, I’d need to be an extrovert with excellent networking skills, or someone who already has the right connections. The skills I used to make a living don’t seem to hold much value anymore either.I'm considering learning to become a data analyst, since it looks like something I could actually enjoy—and from what I’ve seen, it seems possible to learn the basics in a few months. But looking at job postings here in Austria, it seems like most companies are asking for people with math or statistics master’s degrees. So maybe this is just a pipe dream, and I’d end up sinking more time into something that doesn’t lead anywhere.I also need to make money now, and I’d really love to avoid going back to retail. But after sending out around 100 applications for various marketing-related jobs, and with there being a lack of regular office jobs in rural Austria, I honestly just feel lost.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
