Hi guys,I just wanted to share my experience with all of you to let you all know that there is a light at the end of the recruiting hell tunnel.After finding out my boss did something I thought to be unethical, I knew I wanted a new job ASAP.5 months on the hunt217 job applications28 first round interviews12 second round interviews7 third round interviews4 fourth round interviews3 fifth round interviews (granted I thought for sure I had the job by this point – right?)1 offer – for 30k MORE than I make today!I tried networking at events where I actually met the hiring manager for roles I applied to, reaching out to old colleagues, msging strangers on linkedin. None of it worked. Mind you - every application I submitted I was qualified for, no stretch goals here.I had jobs cancelled on me, recruiters go weeks without getting back to me and then want another interview, I had them NEVER get back to me after several rounds. I also got the “we really enjoyed meeting you but” - then some lame excuse as to why I did not get the role.FYI, I am in HR and see the saaaaaame issues you do. Ghosting is very common. If I ever recruit, I know what it feels like, so I treat people how I want to be treated. Sometimes it takes a long time to get feedback to people and that sucks! I have never had a hard time finding a job, and this climate is the worst IN MY 25 years of working.So with all of that said, keep at it. It is soul crushing, and depressing the entire time, but don’t let the bastards grind you down!
