I followed a basic youtube tutorial to install filezilla server and tested it from another pc on my home network. I'm ready to try from outside my network but have some questions before I do. I keep hearing this is unsafe if done improperly and some say unsafe no matter what, but I'm sure there is a good way to do it. The files I'll be sharing are not sensitive in nature, so my main concern is the unshared files on the same server and/or being infected with malware or being hacked in some other way. What can I do to host this server and open the ports on my router without opening it up to hackers?
