I keep seeing ads for travel routers; I don't understand the point when I can already tether all my devices off my phone?

I am a pilot so I am constantly on the road and always in different hotels. I committed to a 200gb worldwide roaming plan on my phone a while back and as such never bother to connect to the WIFI at the hotels as it's a hassle and the security concerns connecting to these 'public' networks. With 200gb I am never going to come close to using it all and this results in a more secure and usually faster connection to the internet and means all my devices connect as soon as I turn on tethering. Even in the few locations with bad reception when I do end up using the hotel WIFI I still just leave everything else tethered as this is easier than connecting all my stuff individually. As far as I understand this is most of the benefits of a travel router but in my case my phone is the modem as well so it keeps things even simpler. Are travel routers just not for my use case or am I missing something?
