Several months ago, I noticed a $9.99 monthly auto withdrawal from my personal bank card for a digital only subscription. Now owned by USA Today Network, our newspaper went from charming local flair to utter garbage. And they made cancellation near impossible with no online option and a 1800 auto attendant auto hangup phone line.Last month was my personal bank card renewal - new card, new #. My email was soon flooded with monthly services requesting an updated payment method. I had no idea that I was dollaring myself to death with subscriptions I didn't even use. Decided it was time to do as my president directed and "cut costs".I first took each monthly cost and annualized it - that helped me clearly determine what I could live without.Newspaper was the first to go, then Netflix after 7 years premium (sorry, you SUCK now Netflix), Paramount Plus & Showtime gone 3/31, Hulu & HBOMax bumped down to limited ads. Keeping Amazon Prime with the Noggin add on because I have a 2 year old granddaughter. All her favorite shows are there. But I am saving $75 monthly just like that. $900 a year.Got absolutely zero resistance or complaints from from family members. My adult son and sisters agreed they needed to do a review too. My sister then texted me, "I have no idea why I'm paying for two Hulu accounts! Only 2 of us live here."Good luck out there folks. Keep doing the best we can.
