<3)Landing on the nearby station I replenished my oxygen supply and prepared for the next leg of my journey. Grateful that in this harsh and sentinel filled universe, beauty prevails through the actions of our fellows.(I then logged off and sighed a huge sigh of relief from over an hour of full clench mode. Losing 7 hours work was not appealing. I've never had this level of challenge before in nms and although I'm not sure I'd choose permadeath, the experience has made me more interested in survival mode. I do feel the pirate attacks could be better staggered with other events like anomaly's or nothing at all but also I feel there's a niche for a more combat game mode entirely. I did appreciate when there were less frequent disruptions to exploration and it's significantly more apparent in survival/pd mode. I do enjoy the combat stuff when I choose it. This community is awesome and it's really great to know that I can call for help when I need it. I'm sure i could have gotten a rescue by logging out and asking here too! I look forward to future expeditions potentially having significant challenges and death penalties, just maybe without the permadeath. I hope to be a hero for someone along the way too. So there I was on a bountiful planet with aggressive sentinels. I'd foolishly landed on an island out at sea to get materials for the nautilon without checking my launch fuel cells or oxygen supply first. When I returned to my ship I was unable to launch and had no di-hydrogen left. I spent nearly an hour hopping between islands, mining dangerous flora for pitiful pools of oxygen to keep me going while unsuccessfully hunting those blue crystals, needing to burrow and hide from sentinels every time I exited water. When my oxygen was all but depleted I returned to my ship to accept my fate.Sat in my cockpit I pondered what to do. Sentinels tried to poke me a few times so I was hopping in and out to burrow and hide and get as much time out of my remaining oxygen as possible."I wish I could make a distress call."(I'd forgotten about multiplayer! Network settings on!) Pirates began to bombard my little ship but the panel showed three travellers had entered the system!"Mayday! Mayday! I'm stuck on a planet with aggressive sentinels, oxygen levels are low, launch fuel is depleted. Is anybody able to help?"Less than a minute after a brief communication to respond for location details a traveller had landed nearby. The pirates had fled the system or had been swiftly dispatched, I was hiding underground so couldn't tell. A swarm of angry sentinels were laying waste to the area, to no avail. I now had fuel cells sitting in my exosuit.I took off and signaled gratitude to my hero.
