Help Help HelpFormer New grad RN that fell down the SNF pipeline and am now desperately seeking to find a psych facility or department that ACTUALLY CARES. It’s only been 3 months but I refuse to accept anymore that this is normal! The ratio at my place is 1:25 and sometimes it’s 1:50 when the other nurse simply doesn’t show up for shift. Staff is apathetic or genuinely ignorant about what’s an actual crime. I have one doctor that I, the baby nurse, have had to educate consistently to keep them from MASSIVELY making a mistake. I spend most of my time trying to fix the records because it’s abysmal. Med errors galore. I don’t even know anymore if I’m being shortchanged pay wise but I KNOW my 4wk orientation was lacking and I’m tired of dealing with trying to contact doctors for emergency and being ignored because he’s busy skiing IN CANADA or others that only want me to tell them an order for them to “OK”.Doing nursing school during COVID massively crippled my perception of what’s normal and what’s a red flag and then having to move to a new state immediately after nursing school for my spouse’s job has left me with no network and no clue.
