Am I the only one that feels this way? I just don't get how a company can be this pathetically tone deaf to what their player base wants. That or they knew what they were doing, and just didn't care. Either way, this is just so extremely sad to see. I was so excited to finally be able to have an official matchmaking system for AW. The idea of just turning on my switch in bed and queueing up a game with a random person from miles away is just too awesome. And there's no way that it was too difficult for them, especially with the amount of time that they had.If you want a PRIME example of how to do a remake with matchmaking, then just look at the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection that just released 7 days ago, also for the Switch. 6 different games that each have their own matchmaking, rankings, and even trading. THAT'S how you do a remake with matchmaking. It could have definitely been done for AW too, but instead we have 1v1 only games on maps that are 17x18 at the largest and can only be played with people on your friend list. The only way to play an online game is to either talk to someone to setup a time, or just spray invites and pray that someone accepts. A $60 strategy game in 2023.....I don't want to sound like I hate this game or something, and I don't wish to take away from anyone that bought the game to enjoy the campaigns again. If you're enjoying the game, then keep enjoying it. I just can't get over the fact that we can't even get one matchmaking playlist for a brand new PvP strategy game in 2023. Meanwhile I can hop on StarCraft II, a game that released over 10 years ago, and just hop into a ladder game instantly. It's just wild to me, and I was just confused that I haven't seen more people with the same feelings.
