So a little context, I hate that people talk about and refer highly profitable businesses for free (especially in this economic environment). To solve it, I signed a few agreements with B2B Sass companies ($1,000 minimum payout per deal) and started posting them on a website I made. I also made a tool that makes it really easy to find people in your network who would be a good fit for the companies and another tool that generates a highly personalized first message.The biggest problem I'm facing now, ironically, is actually getting people to refer their network (AKA, users). I essentially have the same problem that I told these companies I'd solve (getting them more customers). Since I started exploring different ways to get users, I keep circling back to this question of "who's my target customer"? Given the 2 sided nature of my business, it's been a surprisingly difficult question to answer and really hone in on.On one hand, getting more businesses on my site provides more possible connections that people could leverage and more money that they (and I) could make. On the other hand, getting more users would also mean more deals that are being done.When I try to define who my user is, it seems like it would be affiliates and gig workers. Yet, when I conduct interviews, it seems like SDRs and tech sales people not only better understand what I'm doing, but could potentially provide more value. The only issue is that because they already have a full time job with not only a salary but with variable commission, I have yet to successfully convert them to a user on my platform. So I guess this was the long winded way of asking how should I go about defining my user? Also, would I be better off focusing my marketing towards businesses or potential users?
