To expand on the title: I need to replace some ancient Drobo DAS units, and Synology keeps coming up as the best answer.I'm in a situation where I can't connect them to a network, so I'd need to manage them both locally.The question is simple: I could daisy-chain the Drobos together, and have them show up as separate volumes on my system. Can I do that with Synology NAS, and connect one to the other through their Ethernet ports? Or should I use an ethernet splitter to connect them both to the PC at the same time?
