It is a call that trembles with weight, yet glimmers with purpose: to become a watchman. “Son of man,” God said to Ezekiel, “I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me” (Ezekiel 3:17).To answer this call is to embrace both burden and honor. The watchman stands upon the walls of the heart, the soul, the city, gazing into the horizon where danger approaches unseen. The sword of judgment may come in whispers or in roars, yet the watchman must not falter. He or she must blow the trumpet, sounding the alarm even when ears are deaf, even when hearts are hardened. For the responsibility is grave: “if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, … his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand” (Ezekiel 33:6).But there is also profound beauty in the calling. The watchman is a sentinel of mercy, an instrument through whom God offers warning and salvation. Their vigilance is prayer, their voice a beacon, their life a testimony of God’s love and justice. Isaiah proclaimed it: “I have set watchmen upon thy walls… which shall never hold their peace day or night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence” (Isaiah 62:6). To answer the call is to refuse silence, to refuse sleep in a world that drifts unknowingly toward peril. Are you hearing this call from God?To become a watchman is to choose courage over comfort, action over apathy, obedience over ease. It is to say, “Here am I, Lord; send me.”And in that faithful surrender, the watchman discovers the deepest truth: they are not merely sounding alarms—they are walking beside the Lord, participating in the preservation of souls, the awakening of hearts, and the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. To answer the call to be a watchman is to step into both responsibility and glory, a life poured out in vigilance, prayer, and unwavering love. Simply put, to share with others what is coming.So How Would I Proceed?Perhaps, surprising to you, you have already satisfied the first two steps in becoming a watchman. You have become awake as to the deceptions of this world, and have had a desire to learn the truth as taught in the Bible, about the end times.Your thirst for spiritual knowledge is still not satisfied. You crave the desire in wanting to know the things that have been prophesied for the end times. And most importantly, a desire to share what you have come to know as truth. Can you recognize what has happened in your own life? Do you desire to answer this call and become a Watchman?If the answer is yes, may I state that you are one of the relatively few that possess the dept and conviction of truth regarding the end times? Many people might be aware of the events of the end times, but not with a truthful conviction, faith, and surety, that they are willing to share it with others. There are many who hear the prophecies, yet still doubt if they will actually occur. They are timid and unsure, fearing the words of men, which cause them to question their beliefs. NOT YOU!I’m not suggesting that these people know it all. However, what they know they believe strongly and have a desire to share that with others.God has called YOU. Is there any greater feeling than this. He has turned towards the bench and called you to get into the game at its most critical time. He needs His best, and has named you as capable to fulfill the call of a watchman.In my professional career, my title was COO, or Chief Operations Officer. The responsibility was to clarify and define how operations should proceed. When people are taught an know exactly what is expected of them, they are able to perform on a higher level, than just assuming how they should fulfill the task of their job.So, in “real life” how should a watchman proceed in fulfilling the duties that God has called them to do?Might I suggest that you realize who has indeed called you to this position? Who your “Boss” is?God is your superior, and has full intentions on helping you succeed. It is not “ME,” rather it is “US” whom will be performing the task of warning and teaching others. There is so much power in realizing this. You might be fearful in sharing the message, but God is not. Lean on His strength when you are weak in your responsibilities.Who is your audience?This is where are uniqueness comes into play. There are people in the world that have no knowledge of who God really is. There are many who have been incorrectly taught, and do not know God’s true identity, nor the true gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Bible. There are people of other faiths. There are “heathens” and those who are combative in not wanting to hear anything spiritual.In short, your audience is everyone, but specifically those who you feel that God is sending you to share the urgent message of His return.Consider seeing things this way:There are people right now who have come to a dead end in functioning in this world. They are without answers, and have turned to God in prayer for direction. When we pray to find these people, we are actually bringing the solutions and knowledge to them… exactly what they have been praying for. When we present our information, they receive the conformation from the spirit that what we are saying is true.Years ago, I was in Las Vegas, watching the fountains of the Bellagio Hotel. I was intrigued with a man that I saw at the corner. He held up a sign calling out the sins of the city, along with a call to come to Christ. THIS WAS A BATTLEFIELD!You can imagine the response that he received from passersby’s. Shouts of ridicule, hand jesters, laughter, and calls to “go away” seemed to be nonstop. It was brutal. Why would this guy do this? I had to ask.He was proud in his proclamation to me, that he was fully aware that the majority of people would shun his message…”But if there were only one, who’s spirit was stirred to consider his message from God, it was worth it” to him. He was not interested in those who would mock him. He was only interested in finding just one person who would answer his call. And the majority of the time, he wouldn’t even know who that was.Now, I’m speaking honestly… I could not have done what this man did. He possesses a far greater depth of conviction than I have, and perhaps some day I will get to his level. But he took the fight behind enemy lines. He crossed over into the camp of the “enemy” to try and save a soul that was there. I admire this man and think about him often. Can you see his noble cause?Your call might not be to the battlefield directly, as I can almost assure you of this. We all have a circle of people around us, as well as our own social networking. I feel very comfortable in suggesting that we start there.You are ready to select the information that you will share with others. Be prayerful in this selection. You have certain talents as well as testimony knowledge regarding scriptures. Begin with the things that you feel are your strengths.Your MessageBefore you do anything, your message to others needs to be presented in love. Contention, debate, and a forceful push aren’t always the best approach in sharing the message of the gospel. Consider the position of those whom you are trying to assist:Many in your circle or on social media are searching for answers. There is a sense from many that we are living in a different time. Since COVID, our world is different. Many are hearing whispers of the end times, and have a desire to want answers as to what is happening.Our message can satisfy their curiosity. I’ve found that the information that I share in HELPING people deal with the unknown that they are facing, is getting the best response from others. This is what they seek to know.Here’s a helpful thought that you might want to try? Instead of assuming, go directly to the source. On your social media platform, ask this question:“What is the greatest uncertainty that you think that people have, living in the end times?” Their response gives you a gospel topic to share. From their question, they have opened the door and invited you in to discuss it.Knowing What is TrueWe all have to remember that God’s Children are catching on to the deception that has happened in their lives, and many are incorporating the idea of “Trust No one.” (I personally am living with this new directive as well).As we teach, site sources of where we are getting this knowledge. People are not really interested in our opinions, rather, they seek KNOWLEDGE. And most importantly…Help them know how they can know all spiritual truth for themselves by asking God. (This very concept might be an excellent starting topic to share with others, How to know what’s true by asking God).Doesn’t it make perfect sense? Spiritual knowledge must have spiritual conformation. God has given us the teachings of the Bible. Many of these words are from Jesus actually coming to earth to share His teachings. This is the TREASURE TROVE of spiritual knowledge that has been given to us. As we study these writings, we have other thoughts (prompted by the Holy Spirit) that we desire to know if they are true or not. When we share those with God in prayer and then contemplation, we are given special feelings and even experiences that show us the truthfulness of what we have asked. James 1:5‑6 (KJV):5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.This is how we confirm truth. This is who we trust!Once again, I get too wordy. I just can’t seem to stop once my fingers hit the keyboard.To close, I invite you to recognize your calling, and “Text” God back your approval of the offer.Time is coming to an end. This urgency is actually refreshing to me, for I know that we soon will be with our Savior in a place I cannot wait to see.I’ll pray for you…Will you pray for me?
