It's well established that the originator(s) of the threads care most about keeping themselves a secret. Once they are not, it would fall apart very quickly, among other things.But if one puts the obvious aside for a moment, there can also be the question as to why they would have a potentially legitimate reason to keep themselves secret. I think any answer to that would have to do with their interaction with hostile users from earlier in the threads than I was ever aware of them, which would put this to the early 2010s. If the original thread had a designated purpose, that would have been complete when locked down. The thread about nobody threads on the now defunct Conspiracy Theory Cantina forum had post from those who strongly implied being involved with the original thread and it sounded like it was that very interaction that led to it being closed.And yet, during that whole time, threads were prevalent. They were only purged a while after the original thread was locked down, and then the question of why they were imported to 4chan which was never explained. So it raises the question of, were the originators of the original thread and the spinoff threads, those concurring when the the original thread was active, the same? Because a thread about it on 4chan in 2013, would fall into this time period. Why would it then appear as a recurring 24/7 thread 6 years later?I posit the possibility that the originator of the thread at GLP was not affiliated with GLP, nor that on 4chan affiliated with 4chan, and that the efforts at these sites may not have begun as such but gradually evolved as a form of hostile takeover, the purpose not being an end in itself but as testing a means of digital and information based warfare, particularly applied to a domestic context. The activities of "hostile" posters from the inception of the original thread and spinoff threads, circa 2010-2014, being the basis for excuses to monitor posters altogether, monitored by those who were called to do so by those who originated the threads.Because this activity began to gradually coincide with narrative points associated with political extremism, these excuses were only abused further, to generate a surveillance mechanism that is unaccountable but also highly manipulative. The manipulation rests on three things, that the operators are anonymous, that the topic terms are unclear and unverifiable except through the operators, that the operators can be as abusive and manipulative as possible indefinitely and with fresh replacements. This is something that would not work on China for instance, because China always has more numbers. Think about this, if you ever wondered why the 4chan threads increased the wait time for initial posts, or changed the captcha systems around.What happened was, the US military is unable to defend itself against accusations of involvement of abuse, to respond at all would already acknowledge some kind of culpability. Basically the US military can only throw more people and resources at it to double down, that's all they can do at this point, sooner or later its going to come back to bite them in the ass. This is known, its just a question of how badly. But the military also can't involve themselves in domestic law enforcement cases, so they have to network with police to do some things. However, the police are incredibly stupid, and also do not have access to classified information and other things the military does. So there is a discrepancy, and the police are left largely in the dark about international elements, or even if they weren't are not really educated enough to understand them.So here come the Chinese, and the police don't know what the fuck to do, and can't do a damn thing. The US military tries their hand, but China simply has more numbers, even if its bot on bot, China will produce more bots or enough to shit up the system, so rather than keep taking on the Chinese, /x/ simply tried to shut them out. Sometime during this, before or after, other nations took notice and did the same thing. So now you have this endless banter of slurs and antisemitism because these other Asian countries obviously don't give a fuck, especially after being shit on in the same threads by the same people. That's before including the Spanish.It's a wild stalemate, and no one is ready to let it blow out into the open because there is no way to eliminate collateral damage. Absolutely no way at all, by this point. Anonymity was the only thing slowing it down, but when there became a clear distinction between posters who assuredly would go down with the threads compared to those who otherwise wouldn't, their tactic changed to impersonate other people, to either discredit them as being like themselves, or to confuse anyone trying to tell the difference. The recent hack was one way to get past the bullshit, but the motives behind the one(s) who did it were not altruistic. It in fact occurred only after I logged into the site with an IP address I never used before, like immediately after, and it was that IP that I knew someone, if not that very person, was interested in.You might ask why I didn't use a VPN or don't. It's because I'm not hiding and never was and never will, but more especially because its impossible to. My original point, from the very beginning was to show why it doesn't work, and that it is futile to, but also that internet anonymity and real life anonymity are independent of one another. I could blow up as a figure to the internet in some way and still be anonymous in real life if there is no way to connect to my personhood and likeness, or more importantly if I can determine physical access to me, the bigger point in all of this but I'll get to later. That means, any level of criticism or attacks on the internet against me are reduced to nothing, they don't affect my real life and can't. These are tactics designed against influencers or ordinary people who have social media they can be criticized through. My use of social media isn't social, the people I know in real life aren't connected to it except LI, and yes go ahead and start shit with me there too, by all means, lets expand the arenas, the battlefield. So even if one did, then what? My personhood can't be attacked until it's elevated to be one that anyone can recognize.That is some of the basics of Taoism right there, but what I shall also point out is that the threads are anything but Taoist, about as far from Taoism as can be for an internet activity. So I would never associate myself with them, and would urge a strong boundary between this internet activity and real Taoist practice and living. Nonetheless, there's some posters there making Taoist references, saying they're Taoist, with the full knowledge that someone reading those posts can confuse theirs with being me if one wanted to look for my writing. I say look for my writing because there is some degree of evidence that some posters do look at peoples writing in order to identify a person thereby, including for the period of time that I had been aware of the threads, and given that I always post anonymously, one would have to utilize this to tell me apart from anyone. The fact is, I've posted there very infrequently and have saved my posts in order to be able to separate what's mine from anyone else, because some of the things other people say would never come from me, and I can prove that.That's basically what I wanted to say. I wanted to say it, to signal that, in order to continue open hostilities with me, its going to have to be taken out where others are going to see, and even VPNs will be rendered useless. If the manner of maintaining anonymity involves higher and higher grades of technology, to the military level, then we know who is fucking around with us, won't we?What this also means, is that sooner or later, you who know who you are, will have to give up the endless posturing, you will have to put up or shut up, and you know that if you do not act then eventually I or associates of mine will have the very same resources to turn the table and I promise you that not only you but your families will never live in peace after that.By all means, show the world why you ever thought this was a good idea to begin with. You don't have until the end of time though. I have toyed with you as far as time goes. But I am growing tired of that. I'm getting ready to end this, even if its not a quick end, it will be an end nonetheless.
