Currently, the liquid network serves an important purpose in my opinion.It allows you to transact funds off chain, while keeping the ability for cold storage with the trade off of the bitcoin being custodied by a federation of entities that should generally want bitcoin to succeed.Liquid bitcoin (L-BTC) can also be redeemed for real on chain bitcoin at any moment. Am I missing something? This seems perfect and solves most problems of lightning.In the case of Aqua wallet, it stores all l2 bitcoin in Liquid, then swaps to Lightning if you need to make a Lightning transaction. This means you can transact bitcoin on Lightning like normal, while still being able to cold storage without moving on chain.In the future, we won’t all be able to do on chain transactions, so we need to adopt a good scaling solution with minimal trade offs.
