Configuring switch ports from an ARM-based host

full image - Repost: Configuring switch ports from an ARM-based host (from Reddit.com, Configuring switch ports from an ARM-based host)
I am trying to configure ports on a Cisco switch using PuTTY, but am unable to get a serial connection established. I am using a Win10 Pro machine with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 CPU, built on ARM64 architecture, which is supposed to run x86 drivers (emulated) without much fuss. This has held true for everything except the console cable I use to configure networking devices. For some reason it isn't plug-and-play and the virtual COM port doesn't work. I have gone to the FTDI website and tried every driver I could find for the FT232R UART IC, but they either aren't recognized or Windows ARM won't let me install them.My last laptop died and I bought this one. It is otherwise perfect for my needs so it would really suck to have to blow several hundred more dollars on another laptop just so I can do my job... Any thoughts?(Note to mods: I realize this technically involves some OS and driver troubleshooting, but before you take this post down please keep in mind that trying to get a console cable working is directly relevant to network troubleshooting, so I'm hoping someone here has experience with this. I have tried /r/Networking, /r/Windows10, and /r/WindowsHelp, and /r/TechSupport but the posts either get taken down or those communities either don't care or can't relate to this issue. This sub is most likely to have people who have worked on this issue before. Thanks!)
