Hi all, I'm preparing to start my freelancing business in IT in Germany and thinking about an AMD-based build.Here's the list of parts: https://ift.tt/uRgoZVe. What do you think?The goals:first it's an update to my old workstation, so I can keep the case and PSUwork is developer-related stuff (so containers, machine learning etc.)in the future I plan to add the GPU cards and use it as a gaming machinethe budget for now is around 2000Notes:The creator mobo is like the gold standard in terms of feature list (10G Ethernet, PCI 5 SSD М.2 slot). It's unexpectedly expensive, but it should allow me to extend the build for years in the future.I was thinking about going with the Ryzen 5 7600X, it seems not that slower for single-core performance and a lot of builds or probably bottlenecked on that. This would be 100 cheaper and I can update the processor in a couple of years.I've tried to select the memory based on the compatibility with the AMD (what they call EXPO I think). There seemed to be choices that have much slower CAS latency if one goes with the XMP-compatible memory, but I don't know if this will work with the Ryzen build.Selected Windows Pro over Home as it has BitLocker and encryption obviously is a must in 2022, especially in the business context. Also licenses must be traceable in case the business is audited, so I can't go with the cheaper ones.Update plan:2023: GPU + new PSU + a PCI 5.0 SSD2024: update the network to 10G2025: AMD says they will support AM5 at least until this time, so perhaps a new CPUI also had the Mac Studio at the back of my mind and tried to build something with generally the same or better features (10G ethernet, 7GB/s internal SSD speed, fast storage connections with Thunderbolt). Though that one would be obviously more expensive and less useful as a gaming machine.
