Today's most frustrated fanbases?

full image - Repost: Today's most frustrated fanbases? (from Reddit.com, Today's most frustrated fanbases?)
I saw Big Game Boomer give their "most frustrated fanbases" take, and its stuck with me so I figured I'd share my own take. Not much science behind this, just general vibes that I feel. Thoughts?1. Nebraska - self exclamatory. No matter the coach, it seems they just cant get it together. It's a long way from the 90's, but Nebraska fans just want something, anything, to cheer for. Forget national title, its been 11 years since a division title and 7 years since a winning record2. Virginia Tech - Went from consistently winning and having a spotlight to being an afterthought what feels like overnight. Not long ago VT was in primetime with Tennessee and Ohio State, and now is getting embarrassed by Old Dominion, cant get splashy recruits and transfers, and no longer has an identity. Hard to believe, but its also been 13 years since an ACC championship (I had to do a double take on that)3. Texas A&M - Before Saturday I would've had Texas A&M a lot lower because while Jimbo was on thin ice, he finally did what everyone asked him to do: give up the offense. So A&M fans were stoked to see what Petrino would do. After Miami, it feels like nothing is going to change and a "lost" season is ahead. Also must be frustrating to know they are going to be memed and picked on after every loss4. West Virginia - the fanbase just seems like they are flat out miserable. The Big 12 has been up for grabs and they havent been able to capitalize, the Geno years are getting farther and farther, and Neil Brown hasn't panned out. WV also feels like one of the few major programs that hasnt had a splash transfer yet. I know they got JT Daniels, but it didn't amount to much, and that was like his third stop. Wanted to rank WVU much higher, but feel like some fans are taking solace that this may be Brown's last year5. South Carolina - SC's motto is "when will it be our turn?" Year in year out, every time SC gets momentum, they fumble it. Starting 6-0 then finishing 6-6, beating #1 Bama only to lose next week to unranked Kentucky, preseason #9 just to lose to Kenny Hill in front of everyone (was the launch of the SEC Network), close to another SEC east title just to lose to unranked Tennessee, beating two top 10 teams just to lose the bowl. Even with that loss, the offseason was optimistic and hype was loud, until the UNC game. Carolina fans just want some consistency for once in terms of competitiveness and taking that next leap. Next week is Georgia, in Athens...6. Clemson - Too early for Clemson to panic, but fans are definitely frustrated how this season has started, and its going to be the 3rd year in a row with no playoff. Clemson's program expectations got lofty very quick, but its hard to blame when you have 6 playoff appearances in a row and then struggle to stay top 15 (or in the top 25 completely) overnight7. Ohio State - Hard to believe, but the last natty was 9 years ago. I feel like as a whole, Ohio State fans are pretty chill right now, but the fact they keep coming up short when it matters, have lost to Michigan two times in a row, and didnt beat Indiana and YSU 70-0 makes them a little antsy8. Iowa State - State fans seem ready to cool off the Campbell experiment. Like WV, I'm sure State fans are annoyed they havent been able to capitalize on the Big 12, even when they had the Purdy/Hall combo.9. NC State - similar to SC, NC State has a "whens our turn?" attitude. NC State has had opportunities to seize the ACC, but still have not been able to get past Clemson/get out of their own way. Even when theyre in the drivers seat - like beating Clemson - they seem to face a setback afterwards. I dont feel like fans are tired of Dorean, but I could see them getting a little antsy for a change of scenery if NC State doesnt rebound. I presume they're also still a little annoyed they lost Leary10. Florida - Florida is annoyed by the massive success Georgia is having and wants that now. The Mullen years never felt completely elite. And recent memory has included Muschamp and McElwain, which was just heartache for Gator fans, but its early in the Napier era and the fact that UF has DJ Lagway coming provides some optimism. That and the fact that it could be a lot worse, and people seem aware of that11. South Florida - theyre getting a new stadium. Typically this would make fanbases optimistic, but I've seen many USF fans asking "what is the point of it." That and UCF getting all the attention and a conference leap just makes for an irritation. USF also cant seem to capitalize in big moments when they have the spotlight. Close recent thrilling losses to UCF and UF12. East Carolina - ECU fans have expectations in check, but for a moment, ECU was on the rise, and like USF, theyre one of those programs that has to capitalize when they have the spotlight, but they seem to not be able to. They were a missed FG away from taking down #13 NC State last year. After seeing what other American/American-turned-Big 12 teams have been doing, I know ECU is perturbed13. Boise State - they havent fallen off the map, but have been nowhere near as dominant, compelling, and loved as they once were. That and the fact that Brian Harsin essentially left for nothing15. Washington State and Oregon State - their programs are winning and relevant, yet theyre the ones that will (as of now) be left behind, which will just make sustained success harder, so as a fan you want to be excited but I presume cant shake that that may be a temporary feeling. Very unfortunate, I hope they find a home. Maybe the ACC will say screw it
