So the reason this is a "stupid question" is because I have a family, with children, and all kinds of expenses and entanglements. A career change right now would really rock the boat. However, I also feel some kind of calling... I've always been into math and physics, and kind of around tech my whole life. I've written (just as a hobby) about futurism and how society will change along with technology. I've worked odd jobs in IT with networking and light database scripting. But I've never taken the plunge into becoming an engineer. I was involved in sports in my early adulthood, and now work as a teacher in a K-12 school. I like what I do, and I'm ok to keep doing it -- although I can't say it fully feels like "my thing."I am really excited by the recent LLM advancements and by machine learning in general. Scared, as well, but I really feel a need to be "in the room where it happens."Is this stupid? Should I just forget it?
