i came from the US a few months ago despite being born here and would like to have a Bulgarian bfi mostly like to keep to myself at work because of office politics among other reasons, and don’t really know a good way of meeting someone especially since i don’t have a huge network here yet i don’t really feel like i am particularly welcomed by bulgarians. it seems people on the street or buses are much friendlier to me than anyone from work, though i suppose it is mostly creeps that actually chat me up in person. others tend to just look from a distance. i also noticed it seems much more common here to date someone significantly older if you are a woman, in america that wasn’t as common. i am also guessing the standards for appearance here are much higher for men, because in america i was considered exotic in a way and also it was somewhat rarer to even find a white person, but here all the women are bulgarian and most are beautiful as well so im not really sure how to stand out. I do think i have more modest values but from what ive seen so far it is seen as a draw back. please advise.
